SMPC has collaborated with Bookham Rifle Club to organise a monthly 10m air pistol coaching and training session (for 11-18 year old girls and boys) in their indoor covered firing range.

The session takes place on the second Saturday morning of each month throughout the year including school holidays.

Each session lasts 90 minutes and costs £15.00 per participant. This includes all ammunition and targets with access to a range of quality, serviced air pistols. A qualified Coach/Range Officer is present for the entire session.

Modern pentathlon has been using laser pistols in competitions since the London 2012 Olympics. The sport is in a period of transition, however, many amateur competitions are still using air pistols at their events. SMPC continues to provide athletes with the opportunity to learn how to shoot air pistols or further their existing skills.

You do not have to be a member of Surrey Modern Pentathlon Club to take advantage of these sessions.

If you are interested in joining us then please get in touch and confirm your place today. non-members welcome

About Bookham Rifle Club

Established in 1943, and at their current location since 1950, Boohkam RC is a family friendly club that has recently refurbished their facilities to include a number of indoor and outdoor ranges and a fantastic new clubhouse.

Due to the secluded location and uniquely large plot situated in the walled gardens of an old manor, Bookham RC are able to accomodate a wide range of target shooting including 10m, 20m, 50m, 25 yards, 75 yards and 100 yeards.

Having been awarded a well deserved Lottery Grant as part of the 2012 Olympic legacy, Bookham is in the process of updating and modernising their extensive facilities. The introduction of an indoor, covered range has, not only made shooting in inclement weather possible, but also enabled them to reach out into the community and encourage a new generation of shooters to try the sport as well as being able to accomodate disabled athletes.

The club is expertly run by a committee of dedicated individuals on a not for profit basis. They offer the opportunity to gain experience and expert coaching in a range of target shooting disciplinces and distances. They also run numerous leagues and competions along with competing in regional and national champonships.
